Spiders can pry open doors, so slimes should be able to slip under them like rats do. Would make slimes being trapped in far off rooms way less obnoxious. Either that or buff their structural damage.
Totally not “like rats” mothroaches were already able to kill all of engineering despite being grabbable and much, much weaker. Being able to fight while going thru doors and furniture without smallest penalty is very strong.
Then increasing structural damage from slimes is the way to go. As it stands, you need either 50 or 100 hits from a slime to break door, which takes like 2 minutes of mindlesly hitting a door until it finally pops. Should be like 45 seconds tops.
Maybe airlocks should just lose their structural damage flat resistance? That way structural damage weapons(and a lot of them deal 0dmg after resists) and mob attacks would be good at getting out of rooms.
Not sure if firelocks should get same treatment as they prevent mass spacing by such mobs.
In my mind, I think it should just be like the spiders, but instead of prying them open why not make it like: The slime has messed with the door controls and has opened the door. Or something like that.
Messing with the door controls could just be like: the slime using its slimy tendrils has messed with the wiring and has opened the door…
