Some Ideas

1: Ability to set right or left handed so that we start the shift with our dominant hand. Either as a character trait or as an engine option.

2: Bathroom system.

Every shift people get hungry and thirsty. They eat and they drink. Yet, nothing ever comes out. There are toilets in the game, but all they can do is be used as chairs. Where do all these peoples’ poos and pees go? It could work similar to the hunger and thirst system. Then you’d have to go find the bathroom and sit on the toilet to clear the status effects and I guess the result would be flushed either out into space or down to the trash room. Different food and drinks could have different attributes. Such as constipation or diarrhea. For a game as detailed as taking out a cigarette, lighting it, and then putting it in your mouth; it’s kind of odd that toilets are purely cosmetic chairs. Also… sometimes the toilets can clog. This would result in needing the Janitor to get a plunger and plunge them to make them operational again. If you don’t go and clear the status effect in time; your character will become sick from holding the waste inside.

1st one doesn’t really add much and 2nd one got vetoed. Someone already did a PR for it and it got denied

anything but the 2nd part lmao

Imagine tho for the first one you make your right hand the dominate one and using a gun in your right hand let’s your shots be accurate but the left more inaccurate.

would be funny and also prob make some people mad

Nanotrasen already has implants that bluespace waste out into space.

Sometimes things are implemented into the game and make me think “why, God?”

A piss and shit system would definitely be very much one of those things.

shit just makes me question this community as a whole

Mainly I just wanna know how bro woke up went on forums and manage to make another post that just causes god knows what to happen

1: Doesn’t really add much, true. It’s not like it’s game breaking or anything, but as a RPG game, I usually use my right hand because I am actually right handed. So, it always annoyed me that the game defaults to the left hand even though myself and most other people in the world are right handed. Like, functionally, I know there is no difference. But, every single time I go into a game the very first buttons I press are X to switch my hand over to the right hand and then C to check to make sure I’m not syndicate (I play in a room with a fan and air conditioner so I often times don’t hear the sound.) The ability to set preference would save me one extra key press each shift start. Or, at the very least, if there is going to be no settings; can we just switch right handed to default? Again, most people in the world are right handed so it’s really odd that it defaults to left hand.

2: lol Never knew someone already suggested it. The idea was to be more detailed/realistic and to complete the circle. After all, what goes in must come out; it’s only naturally. I remember the Tamagotchi in the 1990’s. It would poo after feeding and you’d have to flush the poo pile away or it would get sick. So, I was trying to figure out how to adapt that system to this game.

Idea 3: Large Jugs being able to fit into the Chem Dispenser and Mixer.

I don’t know if this not being the case is done intentionally to make Chemists have to shift chemicals between containers more often, or if it was a byproduct of an age where it simply didn’t matter because everyone wanted everything in pills.

I first learned about Chem by watching Liltenhead’s video on it. And that video taught me how to make pills for the department.

Yet, when I get into the department now days, nobody seems to actually want pills most of the time. Instead, they simply want large jugs of the chemicals. This forces me to go off training and try to mix things in unconventional (for me at least) ways.

It would be a lot easier if I could just shove the large jug into the machines like I do with the large beakers for making pills; rather than having to make everything in a large beaker and try to transfer everything out of a beaker into a jug.

I mean, I’ve done it, but it’s a royal pain in the butt (that leads to a lot of beakers and jugs everywhere on the floor to hold the excess chemicals) that would be made so much easier if large jugs would just fit into the machines.

Honestly not bad of an idea. Jugs hold alot more units also, so it could be a more faster way to make medicine.

What specifically happens to me that keeps being a sticking point is what to do with all the exes chemicals that don’t neatly mix into something.

When making pills from large beakers, after I made all the pills my mixture can make, I just take the large beaker back over to the chem dispenser and flush the extra so that I have a clean beaker for making a batch of different pills. I can do this because I first dump the chem from the large beaker into the mixer’s buffer, then dump it from the mixer’s buffer into making pills. So, like, if I make 9 pills of 10u of Bicar, I have about 10 units of not Bicar left in Large Beaker from mixing Bicar that I can then just flush in the dispenser.

When I try to replicate this process with jugs I don’t know what to do with the excess chemicals being created. I’m using the transfer from Large Beaker to Chem Mixer Buffer as my step to separate the chemical I’m making from the excess. But, sense Large Jugs don’t fit into the Chem Mixer I don’t have a built in separating step in my workflow like I do with pills.

This is why I don’t like it when a CMO or Doctor demands Large Jugs and will typically just ignore them and make pills anyway.

If the CMO won’t let up on this point, I then have to try to make large jugs. This is a complicated and convoluted process that requires me creating a separating step outside of my normal pill workflow. I basically have to poor into large beaker from large jug, then separate the chemical I’m making from the excess. There is nowhere for it to go, sense I can’t flush it in the dispenser. So, then it goes into an empty holder jug. Then I have to run the chemical back into the large beaker. Then poor it into the large jug. But, even a large beaker is very small compared with a large jug. So, I have to repeat this entire convoluted process about 4-5 times to full a large jug. I usually just do it about twice and give it to the CMO.

Is there a better way to do this that I’m missing?

Someone tried to teach me to dump everything into Chem Mixer and ‘mix in the buffer.’ I have no idea how to mix in the buffer without mixing the extra chemicals in with it. I tried it once and I ended up making pills that contained about every chemical in the closet into one pill. I had no idea this is even what I did. Someone else put the pill in a grinder and then revealed to me that I somehow got the Chem Mixer to poop out a little bit of everything into the pill. What is the trick to mixing chemicals in the buffer without just pooping a little bit of all of them out into what you’re making?

I avoid this when I make pills regularly by mixing them in the large beaker and then only using the buffer to extract one chemical at a time from the large beaker. The one and only chemical that I just mixed in it.

how to jug2jug

  1. dump ingredients into chemmaster
  2. keep an empty jug handy
  3. put beaker in chemmaster and make chemical
  4. pour into jug
  5. repeat until filled
  6. just leave excess in the chemmaster for future use

of course this only matters if you dont have a chem dispenser
if you do just make the chemical and pour into an empty jug

i play pretty sporadically but aren’t moths unable to digest pills? this isn’t exactly a matter of “preference” anymore

True, and that kinda sucks. Honestly making both works though. Jugs and pills.

personally i’ve always been a liquids guy (i don’t like pulling masks and helmets off or waiting for stomach to empty/metabolize, especially back when pills were 50u) but pills have always been great for self-serve and lowers the workload for emergency/people who don’t know any med at all (provided the CMO is not anal about non-medical personnel “stealing medical supplies”)

that being said, liquids are like literally not optional now
