Mothew is a career scientist, a job he loves because, as he puts it, he gets paid to ‘cause problems on purpose’. He got his start in the relatively cramped Amber station, working with alien artifacts, and quickly grew to love the bizarre and chaotic nature of his work. A shift in science could be as quiet and easy as working at the bar… Or a sentient artifact could set the entire department ablaze in an instant the moment its touched. He knows science as a department has a reputation for being a bit of a mess, and likes to take some humor in it. At the same time, he will be the first to apologize for the floating goop orb spewing lube all over security, or doubt his own competence after an explosion… His favorite thing about Science is being able to provide new and exciting toys to the other departments (especially if he gets to fool around with them himself). When Science is too full that shift, he loves working jobs that let him socialize: Cargo Tech, Clown, Bartender, etc…
