Currently using an implanter on someone takes forever, and it feels bad for both the Secoffs, and the person getting implanted. It is very easy to interrupt, and you need another officer to beat the criminal if they try to uncuff. The only time you would be implant checking people is when they are in custody, and you have evidence to. Otherwise you can, and should Ahelp Implant abusers.

It’s intentionally long to help prevent constant implant checking. While yes, you should ahelp people trying to meta-game implants, the extra time sink adds another layer to help with preventing it overall. This also helps scenarios where people don’t ahelp, or don’t realize they should.

The timesink makes so sense at all sec are supposed to be held to a “higher standard”. Once again the only time you are actually implant checking people is arrested syndicates in custody. If someone is breaking the rules let them know in Looc, and or Ahelp it. Having an incredibly long implant time, and being forced to get another officer to beat a prisoner so you can check a potential syndicates implants doesn’t feel good for either parties. It makes much more sense to shoot a prisoner to death, implant check them hopping they don’t rot, and revive them after.
Yes Security is held to a higher standard, and as such, we do deal with people who end up meta-gaming accordingly. However, issues will always persist with the nature of rule-breaks.
Not everyone knows that they should ahelp it, or LOOC it, either from being newer, anxiety, etc.
And if security can’t safely detain a prisoner to check them, that’s another problem…
So why not just add implant rules in game, and have looc and ahelp instead of making sec/ and the syndie suffer? Its never a “safely detain issue” its a wait here for 5 min with another secoff implant checking someone because we have cause and reasons to. It’s just a bad and unnecessary issue that slows down gameplay for no reason.
We do have “implant” rules. It’s called metagaming. LOOC/ahelps can’t solve everything because either people don’t always do it, don’t realize they should, or an admin isn’t on to help deal with it.

-Using information you gain from outside your own character (such as spectating while a ghost, metacomms, or other means) to your advantage is strictly forbidden. You remember all events up until you fall unconscious, even after cloning. If you take a ghost role, unless otherwise stated, you DO NOT REMEMBER ANYTHING from your past life.
You think this is good enough for “implant rules”? Looc/Ahelps does wonders, and people do it when they realize bullshit is going on. Having a system that’s not enjoyable for anyone and hurts gameplay, because “LOOC/ahelps can’t solve everything” does not make it good.
Yes. Metagaming by using knowledge of implants where you shouldn’t have it is a big issue, and falls under that rule. Just having admin rules cannot fix certain issues, so they are mechanically enforced like it is now.
