Length of ban: Appeal only.

Events leading to the ban: As a botanist i was investigating a ruckus at the bar next to me through the chefs kitchen. I saw a spider spraying web. (i noticed this was a player controlled spider, and attempted to add to the fun of the situation as it seemed friendly and just memeing around) , and asked something almost exactly along the lines of “Hey is this spider cumming its web on the counter? Is everything under control?”

Reason the ban should be removed: Listen honestly i get that ERP is highly sought to be destroyed but i was just trying to add to the gag of a spider no one wanted to hurt spraying white sticky substance into the bar. I’ve seen way way way worse instances of actual weird sexual behavior in my 87hours clocked in so far. Appearently this ban was set under rule 2. As far as i could tell i honestly don’t understand why i’m here typing this at all asking to play the game. If i am never allowed to ever make a sexual innuendo ever, and no one ever will be so be it, but i didn’t know that was the case. I believed rule 2 to be more to protect from weird creepy people basically and people that don’t understand how to world works. Not removing any joke that could be made in a Family Guy skit.

Side Note Personally: I have been enjoying learning the game, learning from others, and appreciating the depth. As well as teaching others and trying to be heavy into RP. I regularly play GTA RP and in WoW RP with people that like to have story lines and provide a fun experience like a hand written book across several people. It’s fun seeing/reading panic or seriousness in people. I just felt in that moment my character would have referred to that situation as such for “fun”…as a joke. I get this can be offensive possibly to some people but that clearly was not the intention. I understand that the fact i was banned and asked to appeal i must have done something very wrong. So if i really did do something way out of line to warrant me having to read in depth like a lawyer into the rules, and type this whole thesis on how 2 lines of text got me here. Please let me know as to exactly how and why against the rules im currently here typing this. Not even assuming i will be unbanned just please enlighten me at least.

The rule is a blanket ban on all sexual content as minors can access the game.

So we perma people on using any word using anything along a sexual manner at all, no discretion. Maybe state that in rule 2 rather than being so vague. Also if you are trying to police what minors see that war was lost long long ago. Nothing anyone online will ever control what minors see. This is why when you launch online games typically even with a “T” rating theres small legal text stating something along the lines “online game, interactions with players may effect this” Even actual legalese know this.

Rule 3 in game is under a section labelled in capital red letters “ZERO TOLERANCE RULES”.

The rule itself in the game rule ends with the following: (YOU WILL GET PERMABANNED). The only lenience we give to this is common insults that do not actually convey sexual content. The example given in the rules is: “You are a dickhead”

We expect that all players that play on Wizard’s Den servers have read the rules, and especially any rule listed under the “ZERO TOLERANCE RULES” section.

This has been put to an admin discussion and vote of which we have come to the consensus to reduce the ban from indefinite to 1 week.

We have very strict rules on sexual content to keep the community open to all. Hence why the zero tolerance policy.

The reasons provided in the discussion for this decision were the following:

  • We understand it was a joke but we take our zero tolerance rules seriously, use this second chance actually read them like nikthechampiongr mentioned.

Appeal accepted - Appeal reduced and lifted.
