Terrorism. This is something we are all familiar with playing Space Station 14. There as some clear examples of this, such as loosing the tesla or singularity, and of course arming the nuke. Other examples are a little bit more open to interpretation.
The definition of terrorism states that destruction, or threats of destruction, of a “vessel or habitat” qualify. This raises questions of what qualifies as a vessel or habitat. Does destroying the cargo shuttle, salvage shuttle or other crew made spacecraft count as a vessel? What qualifies as a habitat? Do the animal enclosures on stations with a zookeeper count? If you go by literal definition, then the bombing of the room of any head could qualify as T. The reason I bring this up is that I have executed someone for T for bombing the room of a department head. (The assailant and I had already had some good roleplay take place and we both were ok with the outcome) It was my interpretation at the time that the room qualified as a habitat as at that time, I was looking purely at the definition could mean rather than the spirit of the law just so I could get rid of a problem. Looking back it may have been pushing the boundaries of the law and I did this as it was a convenient way to deal with a problem. If I was wrong for this, I accept the consequences of that decision. But looking forward I have a few questions about what would qualify as Terrorism. I want to follow the rules and make sure everyone has a good experience playing the game.
Should the following be considered terrorism?
bombing the room of a department head
bombing an animal habitat
destroying any shuttle; cargo, salvage, visitor etc.
Destroying atmos systems
destroying power production systems
completely destroying chemistry.
Some of these above are listed in the definition of Mass destruction which is defined as: “This is mostly used for deadly bombings or sabotage of major station systems such as power production, chemistry, substations, or atmos.” If someone completely destroys enough components of atmos that it threatens the entire station, to me that would be Terrorism as it significantly threatens the habitability of the entire station. If someone completely destroys chemistry to a state beyond repair, it compromises the ability of the medical department to be able to treat the entire station. I know this may come off as trying to “rule lawyer” but that is not my intention. Technically bombing a gorilla enclosure would count as destroying a habitat but I don’t think it should be a T charge and i think someone who would try and argue that would be rule lawyering. I think that Terrorism can apply to more than just loosing and arming the nuke, but the line seems blurry.
In conclusion, I would like clarification on what qualifies as a vessel or habitat and what the distinction between mass destruction and Terrorism is.
