Ban reason: renamed a agent ID to "KILL ME I LIKE TO ERP"
Length of ban: Indefinite
Ban Issue:
What I was banned for is not against the rules

Events leading to the ban

Hi,
I was banned without offering a chance to explain myself, indefinitely, for renaming an agent ID card to “KILL ME I LIKE TO ERP”.
I did this during a Nukies round. I got an ID off one of them and changed it to that. I understand that ERP is against the rules, and I was only making fun of ERP. I wasn’t encouraging it, in fact I was discouraging it. An indefinite ban for simply renaming an ID to something that amounts to a harmless joke seems extremely harsh. I don’t believe that I broke any rules. If I did, I apologize and will take this as a chance to learn.
Thanks.

Reason the ban should be removed

I don’t believe that I broke any rules. I was discouraging that behavior by renaming an agent ID to that. I was poking fun at what I consider one of the things to be ruining the general quality of SS13.

Alternate Accounts

I don’t.

Your ban reason was updated after you were banned. the updated reason is:

“In a previous round, you: Renamed a agent ID to “KILL ME I LIKE TO ERP”, harassed another player by impersonating them and saying slurs (including the word “Retarded”), made jokes about aids multiple times, and multiple other offensive comments. This is highly unaccepable behavior. All of these are zero-tolerance rulebreaks.”

please reply addressing the other issues in your ban reason

Hey there, sorry your ban reason wasn’t correct.

I sincerely apologize for using the word “Retarded” (the only slur that I used). I had no idea using this word was against the rules, and I apologize for offending others.

I also said that I have space AIDS, yes. I’m not sure that saying that is against the rules. I’d be very accepting of any explanation you can provide as to why that’s not allowed to say. As far as “multiple other offensive comments”, you’ll have to explain what you mean.

Again, I apologize for saying “retarded” – this is a word I need to rid from my vocabulary, no doubt. I didn’t realize that saying this in the server was zero-tolerance, as I’ve seen other players use the word.

Thanks!
@samuka

Yes, it’s zero tolerance.

Impersonating another player has not been addressed here. As for Space AIDS, you don’t think that one might be in poor taste?

I didn’t realize that other people had “dibs” on IC names. The guy I was “impersonating” who had the same IC name as me, was a late-join while I wasn’t. Does that not give me the right to use that name, since I was using it first?

As far as Space AIDS, I apologize for making that joke and I won’t do it again. Not sure that it’s breaking any rules, though.

Thanks!

Hmm - so you’re saying it was a coincidence, then?
Just want to confirm, we can look into that.

No, not a coincidence. I’ve seen the IC name before and I liked it, so I used it that round. I joined the round first, he late-joined with the same name.

After an internal discussion, we feel that you took the other player’s name specifically to slander and embarrass them, considering your behavior. Further, we don’t feel like you’ve engaged with this appeal in good faith.

For these reasons, the admin team has decided to upgrade this ban to a voucher ban. You may appeal your ban, but only at least 6 months from now, and only with a voucher of good behavior from another SS13/SS14 server.

A voucher of good behavior should be obtained from a well-known or decently active SS13/SS14 server. If it is a mainstream server, we recommend using that server’s admin-help to ask for a voucher from one of the administrators explaining that you are trying to appeal a ban on SS14’s Wizard’s Den and want to show you have been a problem-free player during your playtime on the server. A voucher should be indicative of at least a few months of play.
