I always like to have a VPN on for security, IMO it is not worth the risk to play online games without one on. I’m probably just paranoid as far as that goes, but I would like to try SS14, and it’d suck to be unable to because of this.
Sorry if this isn’t the right place for this, noticed there wasn’t an option under ban issue for ‘VPN’ so think I might be in wrong place, just LMK and I can move it or whatever needs to be done.
We always like to prevent VPN connections for security, IMO it is not worth the risk to allow players to connect with one on.
We only offer VPN exemptions to those to that need them. Split tunneling is preferred since it lets you keep everything else tunneled while connecting to our servers normally.
I get what you’re saying, sorry if my tone was off, once more, I have an active steam account playing the game with many hours in many games, and just got ss14. What this means in this context is that it is clear that I am not like, evading a ban right?
The hoops I would have had to go through here are just crazily not worth it, it is not like, sustainable. While I understand why you would disallow vpn connections, if this was really some ban evasion or something like that, I would have to buy new steam accounts with hundreds of games and such, without ss14. It just isn’t realistic. It also would 100% be noticeable after like, the first time it happens.
As for split tunneling, again, I do not want to take that risk specifically in mp games, if you still decide to make this like, a strict rules application, it is a bit confusing, as the rules aren’t being applied to their intent, but rather just according to what is written.
If you do not want to reconsider, just leave this, no reason to get us in an argument or whatever, I’ll get you disagree. I’ll just not try it, which is fine, there are some other servers that don’t disallow VPNs I found I can use, so it is not that big of a deal. Have a good one.
