I try to join a server but am denied.

Reason the ban should be removed

I do not use any different client than the one from Downloads - SS14 and the only settings I changed are that I unchecked “Seasonal Branding” and “Log Client”. Where does the false claim come from I use mods? Unban please!

Sorry this has taken a while for anyone to get to. Can you provide some information so that we can try to figure out if there’s an issue and what might have caused it?

  • What kind of computer(s) do you play SS14 on?
  • Who owns the computer(s) you’ve used to play SS14 on?
  • Does anyone else have access to the computer(s) you’ve used to play SS14?
  • Do you use any software that affects how you connect to the servers, like a proxy or VPN? If so, why do you use it, and do you need it to play SS14?

Oh, using a VPN can trigger this ban? Welp in that case we found the problem! I work as a janitor and live at school ground and we are forced by contract to use a VPN, that way we can use the school internet access for free. I never had problems before with that in SS14. When it told me to reset my VPN I reset the VPN and everything was fine. No clue why it triggers a modded client ban but welp here we are. If that is all the problem is please whitelist me for using a VPN on your servers and we are all good to go._

A VPN is one of many factors that could contribute to the ban, but wouldn’t cause it on its own. Could you please provide the answers to the other questions?

Additionally, have you played for a significant amount of time on any other SS13 or SS14 servers?

Oh, that is not good, in that case I try to answer those questions even tho they slightly confuse me;
I use a windows 10 Lenovo Legion 5 with a 1660 Ti which is property by the school.
Besides my wife and my son no one right now has access to this machine.

Back in 2018-2020 I played on Beestation and Flupstation. I took a long break from the whole RP, watched alot Liltenhead videos and thought it was a good idea to start with SS14. So far I had a real good time, even tho one can’t flip. I miss SS13 chemics with more harsh drugs but so far salvage is fun!

As explained in the messages referenced above, we were unable to verify any playtime with the SS13 servers and aren’t able to modify the ban. You’re free to make a new appeal if you’re able to provide more information that you think may change the outcome of the appeal.

To enable speedy review of all appeals, appeals that meet certain requirements may bypass the standard, often lengthy, review process. Our banning policy requires appeals which are denied using the speedy review process have this notice placed on them. Any of the following criteria typically make an appeal eligible for the speedy review process:

  • the ban is temporary and the player indicated on the appeal that they are ok with it being processed without a vote,
  • the ban length is less than or equal to 14 days,
  • the appeal is older than 7 days, or
  • the result of the appeal is obvious.

You may make a staff complaint if you believe this appeal was handled improperly, but should be aware that this will typically only result in a review of the processing of the appeal itself, with the appeal being re-opened if an issue is found. An appeal is considered to have been processed improperly if the criteria to use the speedy review process was not met, or if the facts which the processing admin relied on to process the appeal were incorrect. You must concisely describe why you believe the appeal was handled improperly. If no issue is found with the processing of the appeal, the appeal itself will not be re-reviewed. If, in bad faith, you claim that an appeal was handled improperly, the reviewing head admin may decide to extend the time you must wait before you appeal and/or extend your ban duration.
