Events leading to the ban
Over the last few days, I’ve been making terrible decisions as captain and overall not been being a good role model for the station.
First major: We were on red alert, as a Space ninja had called in a threat onto the station and had been causing Chaos. I was in the middle of moving 2 Pythons to the Armory when i got a call out that the Ninja was in science. As I look for him in and nearby Science I run into the RD, the RD being a high valuable target for most antagonists, I decide to give him a Python, as the Ninja is likely to come back soon and could attack the RD. Later I get asked about this by an Admin, I defend myself by saying that the RD is a high value target and that the ninja is an extremely deadly threat. The Admin claims that the ninja was not a threat and i could’ve spent a few more moments getting RD a gun from the armory.
Second Major offence: It was early into the Shift, and an Atoms Technician asks if we can talk in the bridge. I agree and they reveal that they are a Syndicate and need to steal my ID. They offer a Lobbying bundle in exchange for my ID, and after a short pause I agree and hand it over to them, with the idea to go secure it before evac docks.
I had one more, less serious offence (If i recall, it might’ve been serious as well) that i cannot review at the moment, but if needed to i can attempt to look over it later.
Reason the ban should be removed
I do agree with the admin here that I could’ve spared a few moments to get a gun from the armory, but I do want to defend myself here. The Admin saying the ninja is not a threat because; “They had not killed anyone.” is ridiculous, the Ninja is a Power Antagonist, and at no point should they be considered not a threat in my opinion. I do agree though that I should’ve went the the armory to get RD a weapon, and I’ve learned from that.
My defense here is that i want to make the game more entertaining for people when i play as Captain. Acting with less caution and being generally more light-hearted for a more laid back experience to make the current round more enjoyable for everyone playing. I also wanted to act in Roleplay, and a Lobbying bundle really has very little use when persuading people, and I like to imagine that something Compels and Forces me to accept the deal, even if i wouldn’t normally.
Lastly, I feel like a Full Command ban is excessive here, All said offences only happened when i played as captain and not as any other role. Another thing is i have many other characters that i like to Roleplay as Drastically differently as to keep me engaged, all of which act with way more composure and thought. I would really like to continue to play as command and keep helping new players/new head of staff in the future.
