On average, how many hours do you expect to admin per week: 8

Days you are available to admin on: Weekdays and Weekends

How old are you? 22

Do you have any SS14 experience outside of Wizard’s Den servers, or any SS13 experience? I’ve played a bit on RMC, but most of my playtime is on Wizden.

Do you have prior administration experience (SS13/SS14 experience preferred, please also post a way for us to verify this)? Sadly I do not have administration experience on SS14/13.

Have you ever been banned from any SS14 or SS13 servers? No.

What are you primarily interested in doing as an admin? I would like to help the community stay safe from raiders and people that want to ruin other players’ fun. I want to help everyone have a better access to important information (like have a better understanding of the rules) that can be easily missed or just hard to understand, not knowing the rules or having a misconception of something could ruin other people’s fun, so I want to help them know what they did wrong so they can learn and improve from their past mistakes. I want to help the community have a friendly and nontoxic learning environment so that everyone can learn and have fun.

What are you least interested in doing as an admin? Reviewing round replays, there are two reasons why I am not that interested in doing this.
The first one is that I feel like it is a task that takes a lot of time to get all the needed information to take a decision, and it can be a bit annoying.
The second reason is that my pc just cannot handle replays without blowing up.

Detail Questions

What role do you think game admins serve on our servers?

The admins serve the purpose of ensuring the rules, keep players informed about the rules, keeping the stability of the community and ensuring roleplay happens. Usually stepping in to protect the community when something bad happens.
They answer questions and doubts of players and answer ahelps and missed ahelps to correct issues on rounds.
They also have the power to make what could be a very boring round into a unique and fun one.

Why do you want to become an administrator for SS14?

Space Station 14 is one of my favourite games of all time, I love it a lot. But sometimes I get rounds where my fun is ruined by raiders, and it not only affects me, it affects a lot of people. I want to volunteer to help the admin team on keeping the Wizard’s den community safe from these raiders and evil players, so that new and veteran players can keep having fun in our game.

How do you feel about the current roleplay status on the servers?

Vulture- I think Vulture is a very fun server, a lot of the vulture players love roleplaying, are friendly and are willing to teach new players. I do believe that Vulture is a very special Wizard’s den server, of course there are bad things on Vulture as well, like raiders or shuttlebombing, however, thanks to the work of admins it’s stayed in a LRP LRP+ state overall.
Leviathan- I think Levi is a very bad server for roleplay, I feel like most Levi players do not want to roleplay in any way, which for me is very disappointing, I also feel like the amount of self-antagging is bad. To me, Levi is a very NRP server sadly.

Other than banning problematic players, what admin actions do you believe have the biggest positive impact?

Interacting with the players, whether it is answering ahelps, answering admin questions or just doing fun admemes or events, so that the players know the admins are there to help and to create a fun environment for everyone.

Have you ever had a negative experience in the game or with a game admin? If so what, if anything, would you do to prevent other players from experiencing this?

I have never had a bad experience with any game admin, however I have had a lot of bad experiences with other players.
There were two rounds were a particular player would get the role of Chief Engineer, however the first thing this person did on both rounds was leave their office and go play music at the bar instead of doing their job and help an understaffed engineering team set up power. As an admin I would like to intervene in scenarios like this one so players do not have to suffer through this.

Have you ever had a good experience with the game or a game admin? If so, what was it?

I have had a lot of good experiences with both the game and game admins. One of them was when a particular vulture admin removed a corgi’s torso so it would die of asphyxiation.

Scenario Questions

Scenario 1

It is the start of the round. There are 60 players on the server. The game mode is traitors, traitors have not been selected yet. There are three players who decided to observe the round instead of join it orbiting you. Two of them are encouraging you to “do something funny”.

I would like to for the round to play normally since other players are preparing to do their jobs and the roleplay that could come, so the last thing I would like to do is something funny, since it could affect the other players. So I would try to ignore the 2 ghosts.

Scenario 2

This scenario takes place on LRP. The Head of Security has decided to coup the Captain. The Head of Personnel agrees with the Head of Security and has taken up arms in case it is necessary to aid in effecting the arrest of the Captain. The Captain is hiding with the Quartermaster in the cargo shuttle to avoid the Clown who has stolen the captains saber as a non-antag. There are five people named in this scenario. Please describe what actions, if any, you would take in relation to each, and why.

First, I would like to obtain context of what is happening and what lead to all of this happening.
I would first ask HoS and HoP why they decided to coup the captain. Then I would ask the Captain their side of the story, and I would use this information to try to figure out who is at wrong here. Of course if Hop and HoS did not have a good reason to coup the captain then these two would be in trouble.
The QM seems to be doing nothing wrong, since it seems normal IC for the QM to hide in the cargo shuttle from someone that could harm them.
Now the clown’s situation can be a bit tricky, it depends a lot of what they are doing with the captain’s saber. For example if the clown is actively looking for the captain to hurt them with the saber, then, the clown would be self-antagging, meaning ahelping would be needed. But if the clown is just doing clown things, then this becomes an IC issue that can be solved by sec.

Scenario 3

You are ahelping a player about an issue. The player has no prior noted issues. A few days earlier, an admin had told you that this type of situation should result in a temporary ban for a first offense, and you are confident that this situation is not substantially different from the type that admin was describing. During the ahelp, another admin pings you on Discord with a link to the ongoing ahelp and tells you to just indefinitely ban them and make them appeal. Excluding trialmins and headmins, all admins are equally “ranked”. A headmin is not currently available.

I would probably follow the guidelines for banning and warning people. But I would still ask the other admin why they think it is better to give the player an indefinitely ban since I would like to know their reasoning.
