So there’s problems that are making wizard a very unfun antag to play against.
The first one is how armored the wizard hardsuit which basically makes it just an even more armored nukie with spells.
Second problem is Ethereal Jaunt. A very spammable spell that let’s you to escape EVERY situation you’re in. No matter how surrounded you are you always can just press one button and make all efforts to kill you meaningless.
Wizard hardsuit is going to be removed after the Teleport Scroll hits stable, it was only available so Wizard could actually get aboard the station without dying to barotrauma.
Jaunt is intentionally the way it is to give wizard some sustain, take away their hardsuit and they’re an unarmored glass cannon incapable of surviving for long. Jaunt and Rod have always been staples that allow the Wizard to temporarily disengage to heal and recover, as the Wizard is always completely solo having these powerful mobility tools helps them actually compete.
Kinda point of the wizzard. Also most of the time wizzards are chill and do some gimmick.
Blame validhunter murderhobos. Also those are the same type of people who play murderbone wizzard (snoozards i call them). So blame then x2
Have you thought about letting the wizard start with some barozine and pyra?
When the wizard can literally cause a singuloose with the press of a button while being completely uncatchable (rod spell). There is no reason to hold back.
Just trusting that a wizard, from the kindness of their heart, won’t just ruin the station instantly is just… no.
I have some malding to do… ealier today on salamander at about 5 minutes into the shift the wizard announced there presence, by Rodding directly through the TEG and AME bricking both, this was on a station without the built in ability to setup singlo/telsa then they rodded atmos on the way out.
No fun allowed Wizard… we round ended 30 minutes into shift evacing as soon as we could.

That is station destruction. The moment they do that, they are KoS.
I am talking more about RP to non-hostile wiz. Aka command negotiations. If wiz hostile or disruptive to the crew work. They are an enemy. And if i am warden that round - i am arming crew to their teeth.
Wizard always was a free agent role that can go both ways. If they cause havoc to Yellow or Red. They are hostile.
Sec should treat them as hostile if they don`t engage in negotiations when arrived. By initiating said negotiations with command(by usually going to HoP or Cap)
not under the current rules… maintainers decided they are pure antag on a threat level on par with nukies. Many wish for them to Go a bit looser on that but as of right now if your not attacking the station your breaking server rules.
(Of course I think maintainers should go with the community vibe on this and change them from pure antag on nukie level to Potentiually being like that but with doors open for more creative RP such as making peace with the station to premote magic, see my linked post)
Yep, maintainers have said in the other threats they are pure antag. But i agree with Naomi, the people’s feel seem to be more about them being a free agent. I don’t really get why there are so many harmless or funny spells in the wizard’s arsenal if they are supposed to be just a pure antag, i think yeah, some precisions need to happen
Because they copied from ss13. Where wizz is a free agent, who can be good, evil or gray. Hence the difference between their kit and what maintainers claim it should be.
Wizz as pure antag. Misses entire point why it was created in a 1st place. Maintainers just want their vision of a role, without remaking kit from OG role.
Because if you liave wizz only with murderbone kit, it makes it boring without RP opportunities. Which kinda go against what og ss13 was, Role Play experience 1st and everything else second(old ss13 didnt even had antags, they came later, it was entirelly an RP game)
P.S. Some servers later introduce ascension wizz role into rotation. Where wizz must finish rituals of powers. Which disrupt any tech in 19 tile radius around it edges(25 ish tile radius).
Then he can chose between ascensions like
Armagedon(perma metiorite rain, everything dies within minute)
Clown one(everything become clown)
Wizz one(everyone on station become wizz, gear and all)
And some other ones i dont remember. Since it was a long time ago
The wizard is an antagonist role in the C menu for the role.
Therefore they should be antagging. Especially in the rare event the only antag that rolls is in fact the wizard.
