When a player zombie suicides, it kills the zombie outright. I think instead, it should open up a ghost role and make the zombie AI controlled immediately.
Just witnessed a Nukie round where the Agent stealthily infiltrated the station and managed to use his autoinjector to lethally poison several crew members in a big group. After killing 5 or 6, he infects one of those crew members in an effort to turn them into a zombie. After the zombie turns, they immediately suicide, effectively killing the infection outright.
Iām not sure what steps the Agent could have taken to avoid this, but this is issue of player behavior clearly. A player who was mad and did not want the Nukies to win. I understand that the player can just choose to not bite someone anyways, but this at least enables a player who does not want to play as a zombie to still allow the infection to flow naturally instead.
If this change were in place, that Nukie could have amassed his army of zombies like he deserved.
What I mean here is that if a player is mad that the antag got them and refuses to participate in the zombie infection, thereās not much that can be done mechanically. Being infected and standing still, or just walking at people and not biting, or even biting other zombies. There is seemingly nothing but admin intervention that can fix that unless someone has any ideas.
But there IS a big difference, there. āI donāt want to play a zombieā is fair.
āI am a zombie intentionally not doing my roleā is a server rule violation, whether or not one gets caught
And the tag I mentioned should prevent the player from killing the zombie as they leave it. They could still bite themselves to death, I guess, but that is again a clear rule violation with a log trail.
