Remove mice ghost roles

all it takes is one guy to dedice you don t get to play chef today and constantly rushes kitchen untill there is no mice / monkey / snail / anythink capable of eating, roles left (usually there is enough mices for entire round)

Hoenstly kinda agree… mice ghost role is just a greif ghost role, espically bothersome if your a pacifist botanists, Chefs start with 4 mouse traps to protect themselves while we dont have many choices.

mice exist to be non-lethal nuisances. while they’re considered free agents, the average mouse is essentially a minor antagonist to the service department. in other words, you’re asking an antag to be entirely removed because people antag with it.

for pacifist botanists - have you tried just asking for some mouse traps? chefs have some, janitors have some, cargo should be able to order some… just because you lack them roundstart doesn’t mean they’re not an option.

if a mouse is genuinely metagrudging you, that’s not a mouse issue, that’s a player issue. ahelp 'em

Cargo or any department with an autolathe can straight up print more mousetraps for you, so they’re hardly a limited resource.

its not that it cant be dealt with, its just not fun to deal with them and i’d rather not.

i found solution in making great wall of chineese using mouse traps (hamlet fatality rate 100% and some diona deaths over there and here time to time due to sheer amount of damage they recieve once they step on bazilion traps)

personally, i have never had any problems with mice probably because they eat my plants once and die of the theobromine in my plants and or other poisons

for chef i just well kill them turn them rat kebabs or burgers with mice traps or throwing weapons

however, if they really are bothering you gather lots of something that can do throwing damage then you can kill them in one shot if you miss you have more

but if they are below tables, you can wide swing to hit them below if they move out throw a throwing weapon on them

i don’t Rember if throwing weapons get stuck on tables though maybe they do deal damage below tables them but i really don’t know

Mice is not an issue. What you actually asking is Green-shift server(no antags) to chill.

Damn i even managed to have a rat army couple of times and annoy HoP with it(eat all the paper) as chef. You can RP with them, you can cook them, you can test you warcrime food on them(what chems do what, litchen chem with botany)

thats is not whats being argued here, removing mice doesn’t make a green shift. mice are not even on the threat radar for a station and implying no mice = green-shift implies mice are on the same level as nukies and zeds.

So pretty much remove one of the oldest roles in whole thing. One which had many RP interactions around it for majority of the players.

Just because it`s “Insignificant”?

P.S. Removing mice is basically greenshift to kitchen and botany

I havn’t seen many good interactions with mice in my time playing. most mouse players just invade where im working, eat food if i move towards them they go under a counter becoming ungrabble or run to the other side of the room or go under doors where they move faster than you and persuing them is just wasting your time, which wastes cargo money and chems meds. So yeah… I dont see them as a net posative even from an RP position.

I would like to remove ghost role mice, not mice entirely. Mice provide vauable meat for the station and non-player controlled mice are quick to handle allowing me to focus on more important things like juggling aloe, poppys, glaxey thistles for chems, 4 crops for the chef a cocoa tree and whatever cargo wants done or getting Koi or Deus up and running. Player mice on the other hand easily out manuver you, eat everything they can click at once rather than eating one thing at a time maximising damage to your produce and are just pests.

And I will point out we already have a more specialised antag for our departments in rat king. who can roleplay and has great interactions with the station.

You can grab mice under counters. Right-click their rough location to open the context menu, then click on the mouse in that menu.

Then stick 'em in a blender.

or the microwave. they cant ecape either of them. so a option is to always make a “hall of tortured rats” and threaten to blend/microwave them.

You can rightclick and grab them. Which if targeted in a middle of square table will target all four tiles.

Also there is microvave, wide swing will hit them under table, mouse traps, poisons. There are so many ways to annihilate mice.

So only thing i can say “Skill issue”

in my 3.2k hours of gameplay not once i have seen people say “skill issue” agree to proove it in game nor i have seen any of them sucessfully do that.

player controlled mice is not fun for other side to deal with especially if its going for 6 rounds straigh and god forbid multiple players doing same in the same round, i would like to be able to play chef not deal with constant shitter mice attacks and not be able to leave kitchen for entire round.

then ask cargo to order more mouse traps. or lay them horizontally across the door frame. 1 mouse trap covers basically a whole tile if you put it in the right sspot.

never thought id see a mald post over mice of all things

I swear people on Wizden are the most unrobust ever. Imagine loosing to mice?
You can literally lace food with ANYTHING. But instead of using in-game mechanics they scream “Nah i don`t want to learn, i want carebear forever”

Also literally asking of prove of killing mice? Bruh i literally can get 4 boxes of mouse traps after doing 1 bounty for cargo and make kitchen look like military base

No skill needed(except not being space asshole to cargo), just point and click, put a food on closer part of counter to kitchen and there.

You can kill mouse with one cleaver throw(scratch that, takes skill of pressing throw button)

You can keep mice out the freezer in turning it on on minimal, if you cannot be bothered to use fridge locker(but oh i am to cold, get firefight suit - that is all you need)

Like damn, its reminds me of “Soap too scawy and strong” all over again.
